We are seeking a passionate Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a therapeutic children’s residential home. This is an exciting opportunity for an ambitious individual who understands the responsibilities of the Deputy Manager role and is ready to take the next step in their career.

Working alongside the Registered Manager, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality, child-centred care within a safe, nurturing, and structured environment. The home supports children and young people with emotional and behavioural needs, often linked to trauma and adverse childhood experiences.

Our approach is rooted in therapeutic care, focusing on helping young people heal, build resilience, and develop the skills needed for a positive future. This includes creating a stable, supportive environment where children feel safe, valued, and empowered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support the Registered Manager in the day-to-day running of the home

  • Lead shifts and provide strong, consistent leadership to the staff team

  • Ensure high standards of care, safeguarding, and regulatory compliance

  • Oversee care planning, risk assessments, and behaviour support strategies

  • Promote a therapeutic, trauma-informed approach to care

  • Supervise, mentor, and develop staff to achieve best practice

  • Build positive relationships with young people, families, and professionals

Requirements:

  • Proven experience working with children with learning disabilities.
  • Holds a Level 3 Diploma in Children’s Residential Care, or equivalent qualification.
  • Full, valid driving licence.
  • Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to support and guide staff.
  • Commitment to creating safe, nurturing environments that promote children’s development and well-being.
  • Proven experience working with children with learning disabilities.
